Weekend

So the week and weekend was one of the slowest.

I was SICK! Really really sick!

I think I slept most of the week away! Luckily had Matthew there to look after me and take me to the doctor.

Friday night Marlize and Paulette came down from Potch to watch FALL OUT BOY!  The show was pretty good I was just not feeling to great, but I was there at least.

Saturday slept the day away, boys went out to Manhattan, and seems like the AXE JET GIRLS kept them entertained.

Sunday just chilled and slept some more!

MONDAY and you guessed it back at work and all I want to do is SLEEP!

Wise Words

Life isn’t a dress rehearsal!

Heard this on the weekend and think its should be a new motto!

I AGREE!

"Cellulite is not an imperfection, those dimples are saying "im sexy" in Braille...."

Tini Tin...

So after reading the article I started thinking?

Lots of movies / comics and books that are set in a earlier era (when racism was acceptable) are very “racist” now, but was acceptable back then.

What about all of those?

WHAT - Ahhh old TINTIN

Bid to ban 'racist' Tintin book

The Commission for Racial equality (CRE) is calling on high street books to pull a Tintin adventure from its shelves over claims it is racist.

Complaints about Tintin and the Congo have led to Borders and Waterstones moving it to their adult section.

A spokeswoman said the book contained "words of hideous racial prejudice, where the 'savage natives' look like monkeys and talk like imbeciles".

Borders said they are committed to let their "customers make the choice".

'Racist claptrap'

The store's spokesman added: "Naturally, some of the thousands of books and music selections we carry could be considered controversial or objectionable depending on individual political views, tastes and interests."

A Waterstones spokesman said: "We have reviewed the title's situation and are moving it away from the other Tintin titles into the graphic novel section."

The CRE spokewoman said: "How and why do Borders think that it's okay to peddle such racist material?"

"The only place that it might be acceptable for this to be displayed would be in a museum, with a big sign saying 'old-fashioned, racist claptrap.'

"It's high time that they reconsidered their decision and removed this from their shelves," she added.

The book's publishers Egmont said the book comes with a warning that it features "bourgeois, paternalistic stereotypes of the period - an interpretation some readers may find offensive".

The Tintin adventures were written by Belgian author Herge - real name Georges Prosper Remi - from 1929 until his death in 1983.

He continued to revise his books after their publication, and admitted embarrassment over some of the views they expressed.

A scene in Tintin in the Congo in which the eponymous hero gave a geography lesson to Africans about Belgium was later changed to a maths class.

MATTHEW - LOVE YA!

Hanging by a moment by Lifehouse.

Desperate for changing.
Starving for truth.
I'm closer to where I started,
Chasing after you,

Chorus:
I'm falling even more in love with you

I'm letting go of all i've held on to

I'm standing here until you make me move,
I'm hanging by a moment here with you.

Forgetting all I’m lacking.
Completely incomplete.
I'll take your invitation.
You take all of me.

Chorus:
Hanging by a moment here with you.

I'm living for the only thing I know.

I'm running and not quite sure where to go.
And I don't know what I’m diving into,

Just hanging by a moment here with you.

There's nothing else to lose.
There's nothing else to find.
There's nothing in the world,
That can change my mind.
There is nothing else.
There is nothing else.
There is nothing else.

Desperate for changing,
Starving for truth.
I'm closer to where I started
Chasing after you.

Chorus

I'm hanging by a moment (here with you)
I'm hanging by a moment (here with you)
I'm hanging by a moment here with you

Weekend

What a nice relaxing weekend.

Friday evening just relaxed and cuddled on the couch.

Got to bed nice and early as there was really nothing on TV and we had a busy day planned for Saturday.

Saturday woke up nice and early with Gummi Bears on TV (Matthew’s flatmate really enjoyed that).

We then headed off to the Northgate mall nice and early, got what we needed and headed back home.

I then went to my house and got everything ready for the rugby and braai at my Clubhouse.

Michelle, Jan Willem, Stefan, San, Matthew, Deon, Louise and myself enjoyed the first half of the rugby (South Africa was in the lead).

We then had a lil braai with boerrie rolls mmmmmm so yummy!

Matthew was not feeling to great so headed back home.

Watched the Live Earth Show Highlights (pretty good) watched crap on TV and went to bed.

Sunday woke up and Matthew had been sneeazing all night :0( SHAME

So he slept in and I just a few things around the house.

We then went to the shops to get him some medicine and bought the AIR SUPPLY CD we were looking for.

We got home and popped in the DVD of AIR SUPPLY!

It was so nice to hear the music as it is timeless!

THE MUSIC VIDEOS WERE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!

Ahhh those where the days… the 80’s… Sholder pads, big afros and long hair!

ELEPHANT SHOES

Just for Matthew,

He caught me with this last night.

He said ELEPHANT SHOES and I thought he said I LOVE YOU TOO!

I thought it was pretty funny!

So said to him OLIVE JUICE (I lOVE YOU) hehehehe :0)

LION SHOW HERE I COME!

GIRLS/BOYS NIGHT

So to have these eves or not?

I think it’s a good idea for couples to do this.

You know have that one night in the week to do your own thing…

You can stay at home or go out with friends!

ITS JUST ONE NiGHT WHERE YOU GET TO SLEEP ALONE AND MISS THE OTHER PERSON TERRIBLY!

I dnt really go out in the week, so this will be my reading / catching up on mxit / facebook / cleaning / washing and “trying out that new recipe” evening.

You know do all the girlie stuff that one tends to neglect once you become socially active again!

I think I should start making a list of all the stuff I dnt get around to doing?

Mmmmmm so much to do…(Actually writing stuff down hehehehe)

4th JULY!

INDEPENDENCE DAY in the USA!

Survived the BREAK UP

Moved out and found my own place

TURNED 21 YEARS OLD!

(Had a awesome 21st with special people)

Made new friends

Got a flatmate

Went to CAPE TOWN (My first time)

CELEBRATED INDEPENDENCE

Fell in love and out very often

Flatmate moved out

New Flatmate moved in

PARTIED LIKE NEVER BEFORE

LOVE THIS SONG!

Artist: Calvin Harris
Album: I Created Disco
Year: 2007
Title: Acceptable In The 80s

It was acceptable in the 80s
It was acceptable at the time
It was acceptable in the 80s
It was acceptable at the time

I've got love for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s
I've got hugs for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s

I'll do things for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s
I've got hugs for you
If you were born in the 80s
Yeah

It was acceptable in the 80s
It was acceptable at the time
It was acceptable in the 80s
It was acceptable at the time

I've got love for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s
I've got hugs for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s

I'll do things for you
If you were born in the 80s, the 80s
I've got hugs for you
If you were born in the 80s
Yeah

FOR YOU MOM!

Hotel California lyrics by Eagles.

On a dark desert highway cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year, you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
[ Hotel California lyrics found on http://www.completealbumlyrics.com ]

So I called up the Captain,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said,'We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
The stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,'said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
but you can never leave

weekend baby

So FINALLY have a break at work…

What a lovely weekend and thought its been a while since I actually wrote about what I got up to! :0)

The week was busy with Matthew at my house, babysitting and working my butt off.

Friday Matthew finalized his lease, got the keys and got himself a flatmate… so the weekend was the “DIE GROOT TREK” (The Big move) Matthew’s darling folks came up that evening for the weekend with all his furniture!

Saturday we unpacked everything and it was fun yet completely exhausting!

Went shopping for a few things and ate junk food all weekend!

Sunday Matthew’s flatmate moves in and I go shopping for a few things for the house.

NOW IT LOOKS LIKE A HOME!

Matthew is pretty settled in the flat and it’s nice that he has his own lil space now!

I also bumped into a old friend from school at the estate, that I had not see in a while and he also lives there!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL TO REALISE YET AGAIN HOW SMALL THE WORLD IS!

Mom and I also planning like crazy for our trip to the UK!

WHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Only like 25 SLEEPS!

(So excited, but for the record MATTHEW ill miss you lots!)

And Matthew has confirmed we are going to the coast NEXT WEEKEND WHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

SO Ellen you better be ready girlie!

Ok gotta run!

BE GOOD LOVE YA!
